This test checks your levels of the hormone Testosterone. Testosterone is the main sex hormone in males. The much higher levels that men have compared with women is responsible for the development of virtually all the physical differences between the sexes. In adults it controls sex drive, maintains muscle mass and helps make sperm. It gives useful information if there is low sex drive, infertility, erectile dysfunction and more. It should also be checked regularly by anyone using testosterone supplements for any reason.

This is a finger-prick test. You will receive a self-testing kit by first class post which will give you full instructions on how to do everything.
Simply put, you will need about 5-6 drops of blood into one small tube which you then post back to our partner laboratory using our pre-paid envelope.
Your results will be emailed to you via our secure portal within a day of receiving your sample at the laboratory. The whole process is usually complete within 2-3 days – although we do have to depend on royal mail.
All results are reviewed and commented on by our NHS registered GPs but please remember that blood tests alone are never a safe substitute for seeing a doctor directly.
